For 27 years the late Prof. Cesare Colafemmina, who few days ago passed away (November 12, 2012), edited the *Sefer Yuhasin *(hence SY) the only bulletin entirely devoted to the history and literature of South Italian Jewry.

Under his guidance, the bulletin was published from 1985 to 2012 (indexes, still incomplete, here: http://www.messaggiedizioni.it/Pub/default.asp?IDappartenenza=2514).

According to Prof. Colafemmina's will, a new series of SY will be launched next year (volume 1, 2013): it will be published by the Centre for Jewish Studies at the University of Naples "Orientale", with the following editorial board:

General editor: Giancarlo Lacerenza Scientific committee: Roberto Bonfil, Bruno Chiesa, Gemma Colesanti, Abraham David, Anna Esposito, Fabrizio Lelli, Michele Luzzati, Giuseppe Mandalą, Mauro Perani, Leonard V. Rutgers, Shlomo Simonsohn, Giuliano Tamani, Nadia Zeldes.

As always, SY will host notes and articles concerning Jewish history and artifacts, as well Hebrew documents and literature related with (and exclusively with) South Italy, Sicily and Sardinia.

In its new edition, SY shall be an annual, peer-reviewed academic journal: on which works in English or French, German, Italian, and Spanish (with English summariesscholarly ) are welcomed and accepted.
