פקיד הקרן הקיימת לישראל היה אחד משני הישראלים שהיו בין הפצועים בפיגוע בבית הכנסת ברומא בשבוע שעבר, כך הודיע קק"ל כאן. מקס שמגר, בן 55, שימש עד לאחרונה כשליח של קק"ל ברומא. הוא חזר לישראל כדי לקחת תפקיד ב"מועצת המורים "של קק"ל, וביקר ברומא בקצרה במשימה מיוחדת של קק"ל כשנפצע. הנפגעים האחרים הישראלים בפיגוע היו פרופ 'יעקב סרמונטה, אלון באוניברסיטה העברית. A Jewish National Fund official was one of the two Israelis who were among the wounded at the Rome synagogue terror attack last week, the JNF here has announced. Max Shamgar, 55, until recently served as JNF’s emissary in Rome. He returned to Israel to take a position in the JNF’s “Council of Teachers” and was visiting Rome briefly on a special JNF assignment when he was wounded. The other Israeli hurt in the attack was Prof. Jacob Sarmonetta, a Hebrew University don.
